My pastor had a great response to 7 pounds, something to the effect of:

Will Smith wanted to submit his guilty body to save 7 deserving people. But the gospel is so radical in that Jesus gave his _innocent_ body to save the totally _undeserving_!

Hallelujah!

Hey...your post is encouraging once again!

Well, I'm also the kind that reflects after a movie. Would think deeper and into the meanings of it. Though I've never really caught the 2 movies, I think I know where you are coming from. Yeah. It is sad that reality of the world is portrayed as such. Sigh. And I think I'll leave the cinema/the TV screen not fully satisfied.

But your perspective of "what if they knew Jesus" was something new and cool to me! Thanks for sharing! Indeed, God is a God of hope! =)

Hi Diana!

Thanks for your sharing and this post! It really makes me just paused in the midst of what I'm doing, read carefully and let God speak to me through your short testimony.

Indeed, even amid doing God's work, I must learn and know to depend on Him. To know that He should satisfy me and not how well I perform or do my work. Many a times, performance and presentations just gets the better of me. Hope it won't be the case for you as you seek Him more!

Happiness and hope go hand and hand. Though we may experience sadness, desperation, oppression; we can always have hope that is in Christ. But this hope does not necessarily look like what the world may define it;the same to with joy and happiness. It's important to note that Joyfulness and happiness is not always about our outward demeanor, or about laughing, or always smiling etc. There are times we experience pain, and we mourn; we cry; we seek solitude; and the paradox would be that we still have hope that in our faith, that God is greater than our pains, knowing that God is with us in our mourning, he will one day wipe away our tears. There is his purpose that is always working in us, even when joy does not seem like joy or happiness does not seem like happiness.....
